Suman Chakraborty, MLitt (Glasgow) studied modern literature at the University of Glasgow. He taught at various institutes including De Montfort University, UK, University of Derby, UK and the British Council, India. He is the Director of Centre for English Studies.
He is the editor of INDIAN ENGLISH NOVEL: A Critical Casebook and INDIAN ENGLISH POETRY: A Critical Casebook. Both the titles are essential recommended readings for English Honours students across India.
He articles were published in various journals and he presented his research papers at various institutes including University of Greenwich, London and University of Bangor, Wales, UK . He is an Educator of Enotes, one of the most-visited educational sites for literature students and teachers. He is an Executive Committee member of Indo-British Scholars’ Association (IBSA), the Kolkata Chapter of Association of British Scholars (ABS), which is a part of the British Council. He is also a member of the Executive Committee of Bengal National Chamber of Commerce and Industry where he edits its newsletter Resurgent Bengal.
